This game is supposed to play on Ironman mode. Because the point of Dark Souls is to overcome the problems and the level design often give you what you need if you can do the problem solving. Should we add easy options to Dark Souls just because 'giving choices is a good thing'. Heard that saying before? That's your 'problem' there, you have become too good, and too used to not lose characters! :) Just embrace the occasional death as an opportunity to level up another character of a different class and thus a chance to test different party compositions. I have never ever have a party wipe, I've only lost one hero or two in many many playthroughs, but I can't stand that, I get discouraged and stop playing, that's all, it's such a hassle to re-level characters, and I don't like that, it's not like I'm changing a core mechanic, I just don't want to lose characters and take steps back. Rather than asking for an option that's so opposite to the game's design, learn from your mistakes. The game has no time limit, so you can always, literally always, recover from a bad raid. If you are having frequent party wipes, you really need to reevaluate your party compositions, trinket selection, skill selection, and overall strategy.

Losing a hero here and there should be rare and acceptable, is part of the fun, and it will make your victories sweeter. The real progress is the improvement of your hamlet.

The thing is, losing heroes is not (by design) that big of a deal. a save and load option clashes frontally against the complete design of the experience. No one would ask for a 100% accurate autoaim option in Doom Eternal just for the sake of having more options.
